Little Millet
Little Millet (Kutki / Sama)
A small, ancient grain with a mild flavour and gentle texture, little millet is a nourishing everyday alternative to polished grains. Naturally rich in fibre and minerals, it is slow-digesting and fits beautifully into balanced, everyday meals.
Why include it in your kitchen?
• Naturally rich in fibre for better satiety and digestion
• Has a lower glycaemic impact than refined grains, making it a steadier energy option
• Contains iron, magnesium, and B vitamins that support overall wellbeing
• Naturally gluten-free and easy to incorporate into everyday meals
How to use:
Cook much like rice and pair with dals, curries, or vegetables. Works beautifully in khichdi, pulao, millet bowls, porridge, upma, or even as a lighter substitute for rice in everyday meals.
Cooking tip:
Rinse well and cook approximately 1 cup millet with 2.5–3 cups water until soft and fluffy.
